Halloween Pumpkin Carving & Party
Halloween is always a big holiday at HYAD and this year was no exception. We had pumpkin carving and an awesome party with great costumes, fabulous music and lots of dancing and games. These events are special and important to the residents of HYAD as it gives everyone a chance to come together, relax and have fun with friends while doing some of their favorite activities.

Manager & Outreach Staff Anniversaries
We celebrated two anniversaries this September for our Manager and one of our Outreach staff. Our Executives, Directors, families and residents were in attendance and our residents presented beautiful hand-made cards and special thanks to our staff. It was a touching and overwhelming celebration with delicious cake and flowers. Thank you to everyone for attending!
10 Year Anniversary Party
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in June with an amazing potluck BBQ! We were joined by friends, family and all kinds of fantastic folks that helped to make HYAD the wonderful and warm place that it is today. The food was fabulous and the company was even better. Thank you to everyone for coming out, having fun and celebrating the success that is HYAD!
Garden Spring Cleaning
It was an unusually warm and beautiful day for HYAD's mid-March garden spring cleaning, not just because of the weather, but because of what happened at HYAD Place. About 40 congregants of the Iglesia Ni Cristo/Church of Christ came as volunteers to do the spring clean-up of HYAD Place gardens. Ranging in age from 80+ to just 1 years old, our wonderful friends worked hard all afternoon, laughing in pleasure as they fulfilled their church’s mandate of helping others. To try to thank everyone for their kindness, there was food of course, hot dogs and hamburgers, as well as pot-luck brought by the volunteers themselves! Many thanks to the organizers and helpers!

Summer BBQ Party
The HYAD Place residents and their families are immensely grateful to the Y.P. Heung Foundation for thoughtfully donating an air conditioner for each apartment within the building. This will help all the residents and the in-house managers stay cool and healthy during the increasingly hot summer months. Members of the HYAD Society were delighted Foundation members were able to join the summer BBQ held June 25, 2023. The residents presented the Y.P. Heung Foundation trustee Raymond Heung with two original art pieces they had created to say thank you for the very generous donation. Along with Raymond, Y.P. Heung Foundation advisors Malcolm and Joanne Leitch also attended to enjoy the meal, meet the HYAD Place residents and their families, and to see the installed air conditioners. The HYAD garden provided a beautiful venue for the fun beginning of summer at HYAD Place.
